Physical Therapy Staff

Scott Cheatham PT, DPT, OCS, ATC, CSCS, PES
Clinical Director

Scott CheathamScott received his bachelors in Physical Education-Athletic Training from Cal State University Dominguez Hills and his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Chapman University. He also received his ATC & CSCS certifications in 1997 and his NSCA-CPT and Level I Club Coach certifications in 2000. In 2008, he received his Performance Enhancement Specialist Certification from National Academy of Sports Medicine. Scott is a board certified specialist in orthopedics (OCS).

Scott has taught previously at Chapman University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program and is currently a national presenter for various organizations. He has authored several book chapters and articles on the topics of orthopedics, vestibular- balance, and health & fitness. His professional responsibilities include being a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Athletic Training, NSCA Strength & Conditioning Journal, and is on the editorial board for NSCA’s Performance Training Journal.


Matt Lee PT, MPT, CSCS
Physical Therapy Supervisor

Matt LeeMatt Lee received his Bachelors degree in Psychology for UC San Diego and his Master of Physical Therapy degree from Western University of Health Sciences. Matt is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCS) and is currently taking his board exams to become a Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). Matt is a consultant for various sports teams and athletes of all levels. He is presenter for various organizations on the topics of orthopedics and sports performance.

 

 


Nancy Smith Cox, PT, MSPT, PES
Staff Physical Therapist

Nancy Smith CoxNancy received her Bachelors degree in Biology from Pomona College in Claremont, CA, and her Masters of Science degree in Physical Therapy from University of Southern California. She has been practicing orthopedic and sports medicine physical therapy for 25 years, having worked with both professional and weekend athletes. Nancy recently became a certified Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

 

 


Roxi Zilmer, PT, MSPT, NDTA (Trained)
Staff Physical Therapist

Roxie Zilmer Physical Therapist South Bay Orthopaedics and Sports MedicineRoxi received her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Bio-medical Science at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, and her Masters of Science Degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Miami, Florida in 1995. Roxi is certified in Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) and has experience treating both orthopedic and neurological patients.

Linda Zelik, OTR/L, CHT
OT Coordinator

As a graduate of USC she has spent the last 18 years specializing in all areas of hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. Linda is a certified hand therapist with a speciality in splint design and fabrication. She has been a member of the SBOSMC team for 5 years.

Eric Crest, ATC
Staff Athletic Trainer

Eric received his Bachelors degree in Physical Education-Athletic Training for the University of Maine. Eric became a certified athletic trainer (ATC) in 2008. Eric is currently working towards his master degree and Performance Enhancement Certification (PES).
